Rajasthan: Mutation of land purchased by Robert Vadra’s firm cancelled
Jaipur : Taking decisive action against Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra’s allegedly dubious land deals in Bikaner, the state government has cancelled mutation of land purchased by his firm Skylight Hospitality Private Limited. The government has seized approximately 360 hectares of land that the firm had bought in 2010.
Kolayat tehsildar Gajendra Nain told the Indian Express, “As part of an inquiry it was found that the Vadra land deals in Gajner and Goileri in Kolayat tehsil were bought from fake sellers. As per instructions, the land had been seized by the state government and the mutation of the property stands cancelled. Further investigations into the deals are underway.”
The plots of land were bought by Vadra’s company in 2010 and further changed hands over the past few years. Sources in the revenue department said it was found that names of 16 residents in Kolayat were shown as displaced from Mahajan Field Firing Range, who were allotted plots of land in 2006-07. These plots of land were eventually sold off to Vadra’s firm in 2010.
The local administration had issued orders in October last year to investigate the land deals in Goileri, Gajner, Indon ka Bala and Madh Gaon villages in Kolayat tehsil and issue cancellation orders if the mutation was found fake.
Fake land deals were made under the names of Jagatpura village residents Bhaira Ram, Pema Ram, Hari Ram, Natha Ram, Poorna Ram, Shera Ram, Harnarayan, Nopa Ram, Magtu Ram, Gumana Ram, Bhoja Ram, Jora Ram, Devi Lal, Rampura resident Ram Chandra, Deda Ram, Madh Gaon resident Poora Ram.
The Vasundhara Raje government had promised action against the alleged dubious land deals by Vadra in their election manifesto before the assembly polls in 2013 and soon after coming to power had constituted an inquiry. The issue was raised in the Lok Sabha as well as the state legislative assembly and in response to a query raised by one of the BJP legislators the state revenue board had sought details of the land deals in Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur. While no land deals came to the fore in Jaisalmer and Jodhpur, serious flaws in the land deals were found in Bikaner.
